Formerly known as the Twin Lakes area, the town of Langlade was founded in 1879, and continues to thrive as a small community made up of the villages of Pickerel and Lily. Major area industries include logging and tourism, and many visitors enjoy Langlade for fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, and boating, as well as its beautiful landscapes and scenery.
